Business Development Responsibilities
- Identify new prospects and make contact
- Create new client leads
- Maintain positive communication with prospects throughout the sales process
- Identify needs within the higher education community and match needs to BHA services
- Suggest new services and be able to assist in drafting a scope of work
- Grow enterprise level sales and C-level relationships with university state systems, board of regents, consortiums, regional and global channel/alliance partners
- Responsible for increasing revenue through strategic partnerships, identify and develop new business opportunities as well as expand brand presence
- Responsible for strategizing, researching, and developing effective, financially sound customers to augment and expand company offerings
- Drive and grow quantifiable success in customer relationships
- Work with senior management to identify and evaluate new markets for services, consulting, and product offerings through selected partner organizations
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through a variety of options
- Sell services by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions
- Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
- Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences
- Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results
- Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
Other Information
- Travel as needed <30%
- Create reports and proposals as requested
- Use the CRM to provide updated information to management
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education:
- Baccalaureate degree
- Experience:
- Previous successful sales experience
- Experience working in higher education
